A recent study showed that repeated interruptions during work can cause people to be twice as stressed, which leads to long-term exhaustion that carries a public health burden and significant economic cost.[1] In a popular science related forum, hundreds of everyday people discussed the study, relating their personal stress symptoms to the everyday distractions they have in their own work lives.[2]
What I found particularly interesting in this study is that the group that was more physically stressed reported that they felt less stressed. The number of distractions in this digital age means it is common to find yourself in the group of people who are so distracted that they do not even notice their lack of focus, yet are less productive than they realize. I know I have found myself in that position MANY TIMES in my past. Once I started using RoboCash to eliminate spam calls, I noticed that I was able to think and focus more clearly. I cannot wait to bring this level of focus into the message based world and unlock another level of productivity for everyone.
Have you thought about how everyday distractions may be affecting you and your team? Blocking phone calls with RoboCash is just the first step to elevating your productivity. We make it so that if a call TRULY is important, the caller puts their money where their mouth is and leaves a cash deposit that they lose if you determine the call is not important.
We do not plan to stop there. Communication mostly happens through message-based interactions, such as texts, Slack, Microsoft Teams, etc. Our tech will eventually make its way into messages, where the default setting is to delay notifications during your busy hours. Urgent messages could put forth a cash deposit to ensure that they notify you. If you respond to that message within some time frame, the message sender gets their deposit back. Otherwise, the message sender loses their deposit to you. We clearly have some work in this regard, as it is easy to imagine how workplace interactions can get messy if you do not respond to Bob’s constant messages and Bob keeps losing his deposits to you!
